Learn in nature
Forest school offers a learner led, collaborative, calm and enriching method of learning. Inspirations offers home educated children the experience of forest school through our weekly sessions.
In small, regular groups, our sessions take place the woodland neighbouring Inspirations. They give the opportunity for group to learn freely in nature, exploring their interests in a calm and pressure free environment.
Following the forest school ethos, we support each child in their holistic development and self-directed learning at their own pace. Each session is different and is based off the interests of the group.
Children will have the chance to climb trees, use tools, be creative, or simply sit and relax in nature. The forest school leader will guide and support the group to follow their interests and integrate new experiences each session.
We offer 2 different sessions:
Sessions run in approximately half term length blocks. It is important that forest school is not just a one off, but sustained over a longer time, as this allows each child to settle into sessions and become comfortable with our woodland. This follows the Forest School Associations key principles of forest school.
If it is your first time attending, you can book an initial session before committing to the full session block. This will give you a chance to see if the sessions are right for you. Initial sessions are listed on our booking platform, just select the ‘first session’ ticket type.
Our sessions are capped at 12 children. This enables us to have time to support each child in their interests and enable individuals to take supported risks. We want everyone to access forest school, if your child may need extra support, please contact us to discuss how we can help.
