Forest school for all

Here at Inspirations we integrate Forest School principles in our approach to learning across the setting. We believe that access to nature is a necessity not just for childhood development, but for the promotion of wellbeing and good mental health for people of all ages.

Forest school is an approach to learning stemming from the Scandinavian early years education pedagogy, however its methods are relevant to learners of any age. At Inspirations we follow the 6 core principles of forest school, defined by the Forest School Association (FSA), to ensure our learners gain all the benefits forest school can bring.

Facilitated by forest school leaders but lead by you. Forest school is learner lead, meaning that you can follow your own interests during a session and the leaders will support you to make new discoveries and learn skills at your own pace. We run sessions from the beautiful Hunger Hills woods which neighbours our Horsforth site. This diverse woodland offers many different areas to explore, trees to climb, and hosts a healthy range of flora and fauna to discover.

To allow more people to access the benefits of forest school, Inspirations also offers forest school sessions and training to groups outside of our nursery family.
