happiness in horsforth

Watch the virtual tour

Our nursery at Horsforth is based in a beautiful setting on the grounds of West End Lane Primary School. Established in 2004 in new purpose built accommodation, the Nursery provides the highest quality childcare to children aged from 3 months to 5 years.

As well as offering Forest School sessions in our local woodland, we also offer drama, sing and sign and other peripatetic lessons to ensure the children at our nursery have every opportunity to develop.

Our onsite chef produces a varied and delicious menu providing nutritious meals for the children and staff.

Alongside being renowned for our inclusive practice and dedication to SEND we are also fully committed to the Local Offer which gives children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities and their families information about what support services the local authority think will be available in their local area. Every local authority is responsible for writing a Local Offer and making sure it is available for everyone to see.

We are open Monday-Friday 7.30am – 6.00pm 51 weeks of the year (excluding bank holidays) for full or part-time sessions. We are also registered for the 30 hours childcare scheme for all eligible over 3’s.

If you love our nursery as much as we do and want to join us please complete the CONTACT FORM and we’ll be right back to you. If you have any questions feel free to email us at: kayleigh@inspirationsnurseries.co.uk

Ofsted says:

“The setting is an integral part of the community. Children have opportunities to venture out into the local area, including the woods, the library and trips to the theatre. There are strong links with local schools. The setting places a considerable emphasis on outdoor play and progressing children’s development through a range of outdoor activities.”

“The focus on outdoor learning enables children to learn about the world around them. They learn about nature and the environment, talking about composting and feeding the birds. They are able to identify some flowers in the wooded areas and extend their learning in this environment.”

  • The staff understand how children learn and provide an extremely wide range of accessible resources to meet their interests and keep them motivated
  • High regard is given to supporting children’s language and literacy skills. They are becoming good communicators. Staff take effective action to extend and develop children’s understanding of the world
  • Staff understand the scaffolding of learning and sequence and tailor their teaching to enable children to progress in their development.
  • Children’s communication and language is a large focus throughout the setting. Staff use repetition and speak clearly to sensitively correct mispronunciations. They encourage babies to develop their babbling skills and communication as they play peekaboo. Children are introduced to new words as they explore the sand and art sessions.
  • Staff feel supported to seek further professional development opportunities to benefit their practice. They feel their well-being is monitored by the management team.Parents value the highly skilled support given by staff to enable children to achieve their full potential. They appreciate the information given about their children’s progress through daily online and verbal updates.
  • Staff place a strong emphasis on children’s mathematical development in the pre-school. Children have opportunities to sing mathematical songs and recognise numbers in a range of resources.
